Shadowgrounds is a top-down action game developed by Frozenbyte. The Finnish developers decided to bring back an old concept of gaming, which is top-down action. With swarms of FPS games out there, it seemed there wasn't enough room for a game like this. However, Frozenbyte thought otherwise and came out with Shadowgrounds. This game brings an air of freshness in a world crowded with FPS.
You are a technician that has the skills to repair several systems. After some routine jobs, you realize that there is an obvious alien attack on your ship. The game is played in, yeah you guessed it, a top-down mode. You get several nice weapons, and the best thing are the upgrades, which add some strategy to the game. The cut-scenes are well done, but the story is actually very bland. The effects are great and the best thing is the atmosphere the game creates with its graphics and sounds. The main issue many people have is the save game system: you cannot save it whenever you want. However, its just adds a bit more challenge to the game. All in all, Shadowgrounds is a great action game.
